Hi all,

I have recently been to the drs as I have been experiencing bleeding/spotting between periods, bleeding after sex and some increased discharge. 

I was diagnosed with an ectropian about 18 months ago due to similar issues. I have two boys aged 5 and 3. The dr said it was probably pregnancy related or due to taking the contreceptive pill. 

I expected to be told again it was the ectropian but after examination dr told me she wasnt happy with how it looked as it was red and inflamed on the bottom side. I have been referred to see gynecologist and I should be seen within 2 weeks. 

This has really made me panic and my anxiety is bad as I'm worrying it's something serious. I am up to date with smears the last one being approx 2 years ago. 

The dr said she's just being cautious and not to worry but I'm really struggling with it. 

Has anyone else experienced anything similar and I was also wondering whether anything could have irritated the ectropian such as tampons etc.
