Hi, I have had urinary symptoms sine the end of June. It started with a sensation of a rock in my bladder which eased when I passed urine, only to return within minutes. I saw my GP & a dip test showed a UTI. I was then told it was a false positive. My symptoms got worse. I had no flow now & I was just passing spoonfuls of urine every few minutes. My urine was & still is crystal clear. I drink 2-3 lites of water daily & have done for decades. Things got even worse as one morning I could not pass any urine. I had a kidney function blood test & a full blood count & all was normal. I paid for an ultrasound & this was all normal too.I had 3 more urine tests & they were all clear. My GP was not helpful & so I paid to see a uro consultant, thinking it maybe a prolapse. He gave me an examination like no other & a rectal exam & found no lumps & no prolapse. I was diagnosed with vaginal atrophy, due to the menopause. I was referred for physio. This was very painful! A different type of internal examination & she pressed very hard on my stomach, holding her fist on various areas. Again, said no lumps but that my vagina muscles were very tight & this was probably causing my urinary issues. After this & over the weekend, I could not feel myself urinating on the toilet. I thought maybe this was internal bruising due to the vaginal atrothy after being examined. I am still unable to urinate properley so I saw a locum last week & had another dip test. This showed protein but the lab test has now said blood was present but no infection. I am terrified & have to have the test repeated in the morning. My GP said it is 1 in a 100 chance of bladder cancer! That seems quite high odds. Unable to sleep. Sorry long post.
