Worried, found a breast indentation

Hi all,

So worrying myself here!

ive found a small indentation on the bottom of my left breast. I can feel it without needing to look in a mirror but I can’t feel any lumps or bumps.

if I raise my arms you can’t see it at all.

I took a photo and sent to my sisters and a friend and asked if they could see anything. And all 3 spotted the indentation.

i have also dropped 2 dress sizes since lockdown and have noticed the last 2 weeks I am extremely tired: every day I wake and feel exhausted and I can barely keep my eyes open past 3pm.

I have always been a rubbish sleeper, but even on a normal night with a few hours and distrupted sleep, I never wake tired.

i have also noticed a slight tremor on occasion on my left hand, and I find I get out of breath if fast walking or after swimming just a few pool lengths.

I am 39 and there is history of breast cancer within the family, but no one has the gene.

I have completed online request for doctor to see me, so they should call by end of play tomorrow. Should I insist on them examining me?

Thanks

  • Hi Charlie01

You seem to have a few issues with your health. I wouldn't jump to conclusions as they may not be connected. I think your GP will want to examine you but if not then do insist on it. There are a number of reasons for indentation but I would imagine your GP would want to send you to a breast clinic as they are the only ones that have the equipment to look into this.  I hope all goes well and let us know how you get on.

  • Hi

I had doctors today, they are doing an urgent referral to the Breast Clinic so I should be seen within 2 weeks.

They are also going to do full bloods so back to doctors for that tomorrow with the nurse.

Trying my best to not worry and overthink!

  • Glad you've got a referral to the breast clinic, they are really lovely people and I would be looking at this as a gift; either there is nothing to worry about and you can then get on with your life or there is something that needs to be removed, treated and then you can get on with your life.

Try and keep busy to take your mind off it all. x

  • B12Hi

My appointment at the Breast Clinic is 2 weeks away! Delayed due to Covid!

Anyhow, bloods came back and my B12 is down.

Doctors are treating me for it, as the doctor said they not really that low and normally we would review before commencing injections but as you have symptoms we will do a course now.

Also said the following “your bloods also show markers, could just be a virus or infection, but we will wait for your other appointment before we look into that”

So Thursday I had my first B12 injection and more bloods and I looked at my screen on PC.

    The following are marked high:

    Neutrophil Count

    Haematocrit

    Haemoglobin estimation

    White cell count

    Platelet count

so now I’m wondering if I’m having the B12 to boost me as the doc thinks those markers which can mean infection are showing as signs for cancer!

so back to overthinking I go!

    Xx

  • Hi Charlie

Sorry I haven't been in touch, I have been renovating my house during lockdown. Anyway, no doubt you've looked up what each blood result means, and as your GP said it could be caused by an infection and your B12 deficiency.  I had many blood tests taken before, during and after cancer and mine have always been normal so try not to read too much into them. I don't know of any blood test that can indicate breast cancer.

Covid has disrupted cancer services, I've had my clinic appointment and mammogram cancelled and don't know when it will resume. Luckily you're able to get an appointment and hopefully all will go well.

    Try not to worry x
