Vaginal Cancer uncertainty

Hi there,

Im 23 and I have two auto immune conditions (lupus and RA) which can make you more likely to develop cancer

About a month ago i noticed what seems to be a growth or swelling of sometype at the top entrance to my vagina which I can (almost feels like a tampon)

I am going to visit a doctor this week hopefully although im very nervous and havent spoken to anyone about it yet, im also quite embarressed even though i shouldnt be!

I havent experienced a strange smell although i have noticed that i need to wee more frequently and there is some pain (i went to see the doctor about it and she said it could be a uti) but since then the growth has developed.

has anyone experienced anything similar when getting diagnosed with vaginal cancer

  • Welcome to the forum MollyL although I'm sorry for the reason you're posting.

It's always a tad unnerving when we start noticing unexplained symptoms but it's good you're letting your doctor know and I hope you've managed to get an appointment to be seen this week.

It's completely understandable why you may be feeling a bit nervous about showing an intimate part of your body to the doctor but they are used to dealing with situations like this and they will not think it is anything unusual if they need to examine you. They will also try and make you feel at ease.

Hopefully some of our members who have been in a similar situation will get back to you soon but in the meantime I just wanted to wish you good luck and let you know we'll be thinking of you.

    Kind regards,
