Worried

My hubby has a colonoscopy booked for sept 23rd following a positive FIT test.Should have been in April but was obviously cancelled due to COVID.

Really worried as up until about 5 weeks ago he had blood when wiping after a poo that has now stopped but he now has diarrhoea all the time.He feels OK in himself.  He has had previous colonoscopy about 4 years ago which showed piles and a polyp but needed no further treatment as all was OK.

I am beside myself with worry about all this.  I feel for him having to go through the procedure but he says he isn't bothered about that.  I have convinced myself that it will be cancer.  I know it is daft and I am trying to stay positive for him.  I have made the mistake of asking doctor google about his symptoms!!

  • Waiting for tests is always tough, especially when our minds wander and land on worse case scenarios, but try to keep busy and distract yourself if you can as it will make this time a bit easier to bear until your husband has the colonoscopy.

Many of our members have been through this process so hopefully some of them will be along soon to offer their support and advice but whilst you wait I just wanted to wish you both all the best for the 23rd and let you know we're thinking of you.

Fingers crossed for another good out come.

    All the best,
