Worried about lump in my breast

Hello all ,

 

so a few weeks ago I went the doctors about a lump in my armpit. While seeing my GP I explained im

worried about it and that I've been experiencing pain in my arm and shoulder. Anyway the lump underneath my armpit was a infected gland. The Doctor examined me further and discovered a lump on my left breast the same side as the pain in my arm and shoulder. I'm really worried I suffer from anxiety where I'm always fearing the worst. I'm only 30 and have two small children. I'm just after peoples experiences and symptoms of those who have suffered breast cancer. My ultrasound is Tuesday. Advice welcome.

  • Welcome to the forum Laura although I'm sorry for the reason you're joining us.

    Discovering lumps is always a scary time but it's good it's been found and you've been referred for further investigation. 

    Hopefully some of our members who have been in this position will offer their support and advice to you soon but in the meantime I just wanted to wish you all the best for Tuesday and share some tips the NHS have for coping with anxiety.

    I hope this helps and I'll have my fingers crossed for good news.

    Hi Laura

     

    I suffer from anxiety too so know how you're feeling. The waiting time is horrible but try and keep busy and also talk to people about what you're feeling. No matter how silly you think you might sound. Did they say what they think it might be? Hopefully on Tuesday you will get some sort of answer.
