Low grade fevers

hi im suffering low grade fevers up to 38.   I've had all the blood tests imaginable according to my doctor there is no reason for my fevers. I had a pet ct scan all fine. Its driving me crazy and I feel terrible every day. Anyone suffered with this and know why? Thanks xx

  • Do you get chills with it? I have the same but I wake from my sleep shivering and shaking. Its awful and been going on over a year!! I am worried sick and fighting to get a CT scan! Ive had loads of bloods and a chest xray. But I wont settle until I get a scan. Did you have to fight for one? Do youve any other symptoms? Swollen nodes or anything?

  • Hi I’ve been suffering with low grade fevers up to 38 for 6 and half months. Blood tests normal. I have a body CT scan on Wednesday. I’m wondering if I had covid and since suffering from post viral chronic fatigue syndrome. If you look on the ME/CFS website it states that low grade fevers are a common side effect. I do feel fatigued a lot since this all began mid March. So if my ct scan comes back normal I’m going to conclude I have ME as a result of a virus, possibly covid. Hopefully with time things will improve. X
  • I have a few swollen lymph nodes. I get flu like symptoms sometimes shivery sometimes sweating and hot. I just had a CT pet scan all clear and loads of blood tests. Doctors don't know why im getting them. They think chronic fatigue syndrome. Or and hormones.  Hope you get your scan its reassuring to get the results back.

  • Hi I'm in same boat.  Tested negative for antibodies in May.  I did have some weird illness in late December coughing for a couple weeks, and 103F fever.

i have swollen lymph nodes for past year and a half but normal pet scan 6 months ago.  My ESR and CRP are high but otherwise normal blood tests.  I don't know what's going on.every night my temperature will go to 37.8 and back to normal by morning

    Dear RLC

I am very worried about my sister who had breast cancer previously and has had low grade fever for a month. Did you find out what caused your fever ?

    Many thanks

    Hi,

Sorry to hear what your sister has been through and that shes now suffering with low grade fevers. I still get them. 10 months now. I can have a period of a couple of weeks where they go, but for the last three weeks they have been around 38 again. I had lots of tests, but last March they weren't offering covid tests. They now believe that's what I had and that I have long covid. Hopefully your sister seeks help with covid test and speaks to her GP. Definitely shouldn't leave this. Good luck!

  • thanks so much for your reply - she had the cancer five years ago. The fevers started just before end of 2020. She is just terrified that they could be caused by the cancer returning. Her GP is looking into it and will send her for a CT scan to see if it is coming back or not.

Many thanks again for your reply and I hope you will recover fully eventually. It must be hard to have this for such a time.
