My GP won’t listen

Hi all,

I'm a 24 year old female who has suffered from terrible pelvic pain for over a year. I've had blood tests, ultrasound and just last week an MRI. The last 3 weeks I've experienced strange symptoms such as loss of appetite, small lump in mid-abdomen, positive glucose in urine test and others. I'm awaiting the results of the pelvic MRI I had last Thursday but I'm so terrified it's something sinister. I'm usually in really good health and not a hypercondriac in the slightest but my GP just won't listen to me and tells me I'm fine after my FBC tests come back okay. I know the chances of this being something nasty is small due to my age - but has anyone under 30 experienced something similar with their GP? I wish I were in a position to go private but I'm not.

thanks in advance for your kindness and time,

Jay xx

  • Hello Jay,

I'm sorry to hear that you've been dealing with some health concerns for the past year.

It's unfortunate that you don't feel that your GP isn't listening to you. If you're still feeling unhappy with them then you could request a second opinion from another GP within the surgery.

I hope that you don't have to wait too long for the MRI results and that they provide some answers regarding what is going on for you.

    Best wishes,
