Lump in armpit 26 years old

Hey everyone so I've had a lump in my armpit for 3 weeks nearly now and I've got my breast clinic appointment on the 8th of September so like just over a week away and although I'm sure it's nothing I just wanted to know if any other girls my age have had this and it's turned out to be bad/nothing? I'm a bit worried about it with it not changing for the 3 weeks it is hard and when I push the skin it seems to be 'tied' to something inside so that it's almost like it tries to move then the skin moves over it and it catches almost. So it's not moving with the skin, I had a bad throat about 3 weeks ago and the doctor said it could be a lymph node but that it seems too hard so they've referred me, and I'm just worried so if any of you have had something similar let me know so we can discuss and hopefully make me feel a bit better haha!

  • Hi Rosie...

I'm not medically qualified so I can only tell you my knowledge of those lumps ... I remember years ago getting a lump like you explained ... I had convinced myself that it was a cancer .. but on going to G Ps .. he asked if my arm or side had any knocks or bumps lately ... yes I'd cut my arm ... so those lymph nodes can react to that trauma by causing a little lump ... on trying to heal it ...

That was my experience and over the years it's happened a few times .. but all lumps should be looked in to by a g p ... sometimes they refur you to be on the safe side now .. as they test far more now then years ago .. so the chances are you'll be fine... it's not impossible it's something but really very improbable.. so try not to panic ... I found the more I touched those lumps the more they got irritated ... so try to stop prodding it ... and keep busy till you find out ... let us know how you go ... Chrissie x

  • Thanks Chrissie that does make me feel a bit better. It's just I've never had anything like it before and that worries me a bit. I will let you know! Xxx

  • Just to let anyone who comes across this post know, it was a painless cyst, such relief. Try and stay positive if you find yourself in this situation, for 2 days I was so anxious I couldn't sleep. Then I chose to stop worrying because it was totally out of my control until appointment day, and saved myself a further 7 days of anxiety, be brave girls. Xx
