Lump on Neck - waiting for results.

Hi everyone,

I have been watching the forum for a while now but I'm really struggling so have decided its time to post...

I noticed a lump in the side of my neck around May time - the doctor felt it and due to my fatigue and recent increase in hair loss decided to refer me for an ultrasound.

I waited 6 weeks for the ultrasound which I had today and was expecting to be told something but the sonographer said they will send my results to the GP.

This has sent me into a bit of a spin really - I am convinced its something bad. :(. I heard the sonographer saying L1 8.3 - 3 and L2 6.7 - 3.3.

I am presuming these are measurements which means they have found more than one lump which has scared me even more.

I have also been referred to the skin clinic for a freckle on the back of my leg that has changed and am waiting for that appointment.

I have two children and am terrified of being sick and leaving them behind - all this waiting is taking over my life.

Has anyone else been in a similar situation - if so what was the outcome?

Xxx

  • Hello gande

I'm sorry to hear that you've had some health concerns recently. Sonographers are not generally allowed to give results direct to the patient and so it's standard practice for them to report back to the requesting Dr.

It's understandable that you're feeling worried but give your GP a call later on next week and hopefully the results will be back and they'll be able to give you some reassurance.

    Best wishes,
