Hi,  I've been going through this for years started about 12 years ago with pain in belly constant diaharrea and bleeding , went through colonoscopy and radiation scan to be told my bowels were fine, they just weren't working right, since then I've swapped between runny and constipation with bleeding now and then but it definitely is scary as I was only 35 and everyone telling you it will be okay 12 years ago It would have been 50/50 if it had been cancer, nowadays it would be more like 85/15 in your favour. If you don't hear from the hospital soon after you hand in the stool sample that's a good sign it means they haven't found blood in the stool. So it will take longer to get an appointment especially now and even if you do hear back quickly the odds are in your favour by catching it early. Try not to keep everything inside for fear of worrying your family believe me if you talk about it with them so they understand how you feel you'll be surprised how much this helps everyone including you.    Best of luck will keep my fingers crossed for you
