2 week ENT referral - absolutely terrified!

Hey Guys,

I've had a sore throat for the last 6 weeks, but strangely only when I drink/eat something that's cold, that's when it's stings and the rest of the time it's absolutely fine. It's stings on the left hand side for the first gulp and then doesn't hurt. Has anyone ever had anything similar that could maybe shed some light?

I don't suffer from acid, and a chest X-ray has come back absolutely fine however because of the length of time I've had issues with my throat my dr has booked me in for a 2 week ENT referral (it's on Thursday) which to say the least has absolutely petrified me and also the fact that I have googled my symptoms about 40000 times!

Any similar situations or any insight would be massively appreciated as I have convinced myself that it's something sinister - I'm only 25.

Hi Emily, don't be scared the referrals are standard under NHS guidelines, so for certain problems it's a two week referral. So if you had a problem with rectal bleeding it would be the same but it could be heammoroids causing it. Google is the worst, put in what you want and it invariably points to cancer. Your young and I'm sure one of our Moderators will hop on and say if I'm telling you the wrong information. Good luck. Carol x

Thanks Carol! It's just so strange, never had anything like it. I just want to get the camera over and done with, rather know now if it's something abit dodge!
