Breast Cancer

My wife had a biopsy and then a second biopsy mammogram at the hospital. She finds out the results over the phone by a doctor. The fact it's a phone appointment by a doctor should I be less worried. If it was cancer would they not call her in.

  • Hello Musicmad

I'm sorry to hear that your wife has recently needed some breast biopsies. I'm sure that it's a worrying time for you both.

Prior to Covid19 it was unusual for us to have members post about having telephone appointments but this pandemic has forced the NHS to find new ways of working and telephone consultations and virtual appointments are much more the norm.

However things are changing all the time and clinics are re-opening and face to face appointments are resuming in more areas every day.

Regardless of if your wife is give a telephone or offered a face to face appointment, try not to read too much into what this may mean for the results.

    Best wishes,
