Hysteroscopy and tilted womb

Im booked in for a hysteroscopy at the end of the week and Im absolutely terrified ! By all accounts it can be very painful but I also have a tilted womb which makes it hard for them to get to my cervix - I had a transvaginsal (?) ( internal) scan and that was painful enough , the person doing the scan kept apologising because she was quite rough having to push bowel etc out of the way to locate the cervix - i believe i can ask for aneasthtic or gas and air but how sympathetic have others found people when requesting this ?

  • Hi Roojoo and welcome to the forum.

It's completely understandable why you're feeling scared but I hope this information I've found that explains what will happen during the procedure will help to ease your fears.

Hopefully some of our members who have been in this position will get back to you soon but if you'd like to have a chat about this with one of our nurses you can contact them on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

Wishing you all the best with your appointment Roojoo. We'll be thinking of you and will have our fingers crossed it isn't too painful for you.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
