Emergency colposcopy referral

Hi,

I'm new to this so dont really know how this page works.

So within the past month I've been bleeding randomly between periods and during sex I bleed alot, even passing clots. I have a constant pain in my lower back and pelvis, a dull pain and sometimes shooting pains. I got an appointment with my GP who did a smear test. I bled quite abit during which she said wasnt normal. She also said I have a lump on my cervix which she says shes certain isnt a cyst or polyp. She made me an urgent referral with colposcopy. I haven't had my smear results yet. I'm a little worried and any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    I'm sorry to hear that you've been having some health problems recently. It's good that you've been to see your GP about this and hopefully you won't have to wait too long for your referral appointment. 

    It's understandable that you're feeling worried and I think most of our members here will know how hard this period of waiting for appointments and tests can be.     Hi Bekii95 .. I'm sorry I don't have any advice for you really but I just wanted to reach out as this is almost identical to my experience. Went to my GP 3 weeks ago with a pain like kidney pain and she asked some follow up questions. She thought I might have ovarian cysts so booked my (well overdue) smear for the following week.

     

    my smear was sore, and I was the same with bleeding. She said she could see something but couldn't be sure if it was a clot, polyp or cysts. I was told I was being referred for a scan.


    I had a Colposcopy at the start of the week. The good news was there was no lump anymore so they think it was a clot, however I've had to have biopsies taken anyway. I've been waiting about a week so far for results. 

     

    I really hope you get seen soon, I know I've been worried so I can imagine how you've been. I felt the appointment itself was a relief though and the doctor was great. She's said the thinks all my issues are down to HPV but wanted to be really sure.
