Waiting for results of biopsy endometrial cancer

Hi All,

I am new to the forum.  Just had a Hysteroscopy last Monday.  Doc said she was only going to have a quick look as I have a blood disorder and take warfarin.  Once she got in and was having a look around, she decided to do extensive biopsy and insert a merina coil 'for some protection'.  Procedure took about 45 minutes and afterward she told me she was not happy with what she saw and, although she could be wrong, it didn't look right to her (I knew that anyway as I was watching the camera and asking questions and suddenly she didn't want to talk and got very business like).  So she will call me with results on this coming monday or tuesday.  In the meantime I am looking for info about what I can do to help myself.  I am T2 diabetes and very overweight.  I had already started a ketogenic diet before all this kicked off.  Does anyone know where I can find info about how cancer cells get the sugar they need to grow?  My blood sugar is higher than it should be on keto and I suspect my liver is making sugar but I wondered if cancer cells could communicate with the liver to make more sugar.

Haven't gotten to the point of being scared - just lining up my resources for a bloody massive fight if this comes back positive.  If negative, then I have learned stuff and that is never a bad thing.

  • Hi Nanabon and welcome to the forum.

Sugar and cancer is a very complex topic but I hope this information on our website here and here will help to bust a few myths surrounding this and make it easier to understand. It may be worth getting in touch with one of our cancer nurses about this as well as they're very well versed in this area and will be better placed to answer your questions. You can contact them on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

I hope this helps and that all goes well with your results next week.

    All the best,
