The dermatologist will look at it with a dermoscope and either biopsy it there and then or book you in for one.

I've had a BCC removed earlier in the year, it's slow growing but can grow deeply so best to get it checked out and removed

I was just second guessing myself because of it being small. 
I hope, if they need to biopsy, they do it there and then. Appointments are very few and far between at the moment .
