Fast track CA 125?

Hello everyone,

Its hard just putting things into words but i thought i would ask how long it took people for treatment etc and if your contacted after blood results.

A little about me, i have been going to my doctors and sadly ignored putting everything down to thyroid or stress. This as gone on for a couple of years and only by chance of another doctor ringing me back one time have i been sent to hospital. I had a ultrasound and transvaginal scan which showed i had a 10 cm plus cyst (i say plus because they couldnt make out the bottom of it i have since learnt). They also couldnt find my other cyst at all. My stomach looks 9 months pregnant and my legs and CANKLES are constantly swollen. When my stomach goes rock hard it actually feels like a baby which is insane but i can feel 'something' from where they have since found the cyst to up past where the other should be and around to under my rib cage. I am constantly sick and suffer chronic fatigue. I feel so empty at the minute and going along with whatever am told. I have been told after them results they need me in for a hystercopy? and with covid i have to self isolate for 2 weeks...i will be going in first week in sept. After and depending on them results i am due to go in again for a lapsroscopy for removal of cyst etc. I guess am just wondering since i had my bloods last wednesday taken and got an appointment offered on the monday for the first bit...does this mean theyre concerned? if anyone as gone through anything after they had the bloods done how long was it before they told you the results, who do they tell? what if you havent got another appointment and are just been sent for, for the ops? i rang hosptial who cant tell me anything and my doctor is sadly not on my side.

I cant explain the feelings i am having i just feel sad, alone and sorry for my kids...and i dont know why because i havent really been told anything.

They are investigating ovarian cancer because of the symptoms i am having, any information would be really helpful.

Thank you

  • Hello Keepquiet46

I'm sorry to hear that you're dealing with these health problems at the moment. It's understandably a very worrying time for you as you're not really sure what is going on with this ovarian cyst.

Many of our members here will have experienced similar feelings but hopefully the test results will give you some answers and provide some reassurance.

You're welcome to give our team of nurses a call to chat things through. You may find that talking to someone helps. They're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

I hope that you have some news soon.

    Best wishes,
