Waiting on biopsy results

I had surgery a few days ago they cut me straight through the middle to remove a tumor that weighed 15lbs in weigjt it was 27cm so pretty big its no wonder i looked so pregnant they removed my right ovary and tubes too im recovering now at home and just waiting for results from the biopsy I did have slightly raised ca125 levels but im aware they can be raised because of other reasons im trying to stay positive its gonna take 7 days the hospital said! Gonna be the longest 7 days waiting!! Im so grateful for the surgeons drs and nurses I dont even want to think what would have happened if they didn't do an emergency op when they did the tumor was breaking and leaking making me really ill i was vomiting bright green sick and peeing bright green too! It was poisoning me! Im in pain recovering now but its a small price to pay for my life feeling truly grateful   I hope everyone is doing well keep your fingers crossed for me please i just want all this to be over with now

  • Oh bless you hun that sounds an awful experience. You must be so relieved to have had it removed (God bless our surgeons and nursing staff).

I too am waiting for biopsy results although I have been told they're sure I have cancer, so it's more a wait to see if there's any spread and what treatment I'll need.

I hope you have a speedy recovery and good news on biopsy results hun. Stay positive and try not to stress, my motto is to save my energy for the fight and not to worry about things I can't change.

Keep us informed of how you're doing won't you?

    Take care

    Lynne

  • Hi lynne im so sorry you are going through it too! Its such a scary time i have 3 young children the youngest are both 4 years old (twins) so they don't really understand but my 10 yr old does he wont leave my side since i came out hospital he asked me if I if i had cancer and if I was going to die his over heard family members talking i told him that no of course i havent and no im not going to die! His so worried i dont want it to affect him in anyway his only 10 he shouldn't have to worry about things like that! How old are you lynne? I really hope it hasn't spread my love like you said save the energy for the fight & not worry about things you can't change that is an amazing motto!! X

  • Hi lovely, oh I'm so much older than you I'm in my 50's and my children are grown up with the youngest 24. Oh my heart ached reading about your 10 year old, so scary for him and no wonder he's at your side all the time. I totally agree that you need to protect him from the fear, he's just a child and chances are your tumour is benign. Cancer tumours don't usually grow to that size in my experience so I've every hope you'll get the best news with biopsy results. Can I ask what symptoms you had? And how it was eventually diagnosed as an abnormal growth?

I believe massively in having a positive attitude, apart from making me feel better it helps my family too.

Please let me know how you're doing, I think about you all the time, and sending positive thoughts your way. Keep strong my lovely and you'll come through all this with a new perspective on life, moving forward your life will be all the sweeter, just you wait and see xx
