Hi all,
I thought I would share my journey so far. I am 36 and in Sept 2018 I started to experience nipple discharge/bleeding from both breasts (the left more than the right). After going to my GP I was referred to the Breast Clinic, after examinations and scans that came back clear my surgeon advised on having a total duct excision on my left breast.
My surgery was in June 2019, the results from my ducts showed they were severely inflamed and the discharge/bleeding from the left breast stopped.
I was still experiencing nipple discharge on my right breast and it began happening more frequent so I went back to my GP in December 2019, again I was referred to the Breast Clinic. More test and scans in January 2020 which again came back clear. My follow up appointment with my surgeon due in April but due to the current pandemic it ended up being a telephone consultation. My surgeon wanted me to have another ultrasound scan and then to discuss having a total duct excision on my right breast.
My ultrasound appointment was last Monday, like all the scans before I was expecting it again to come back clear, how wrong was I. They found a mass behind my right nipple and took a biopsy. I was told that the surgeon would contact me with the results in about a week. It's now Tuesday and I've not heard anything. I don't like this waiting I feel its driving me mad.
Sorry for the long winded post but thank you for reading
