Worried abut ringing in ear and swallowing

Hello, if anyone has any thoughts, please do reply, very worried about this.

I'm Male and 54, back in Feb 2020 I started getting a light ringing in one ear and it got really bad over the following 4 weeks, had various steriods to treat this during Covid from A&E that had some short terms success. I had a blocked ear in this time and had drops to clear along with trying Sudafed and many other things.
The ringing has gone a few times for a few days then comes back, tried cutting dairy from my diet at doctors advice, dont think it made any difference.
I noticed that the ringing got worse when I had a swallowing issue, just feels like something is big and stuck in my throat, this comes and goes but the ringing remains, I have this right now.

Last week the hospital cleaned wax from my ear drum, did not really do much, they gave me an appoint to come back this week to have the camera down throat (WEDS 19th July).

Last night I searched google and am panicking now at what I see, I read this main thread and see much of the same worries.

It took months to get an oppointment becauce of Covid, just so worried, anyone got a view on what I'm experiencing?

    Hello Steph, 

    I had my appointment today, I had the camera through my nose and all clear on any sign of cancer so a big relief for me.

     

    The Doctor said I have nothing in my throat, though it feels like a big lump, said it was a condition called Globus and to use a Nasal bath to wash through.

    For the ringing have been prescribed a Steriod and will be having a MRI on head and neck just to double check on things, was offered so I took it.

    My advise for everyone is don't search Google, this gave me a massive anxiety attack (literally), always see the Doctor and get seen by ENT.

    Hello Louise, 

    I had 2 MRI scans on Head / Ear / Neck, all clear, in additon I had camera up nose into throat and nothing there either.

    I think my problems are stress related, the ringing in my ear goes crazy when stress is about, I have a lot.

    I take a sleeping pill every night to deal with the ringing which bothers me the most.

    What I learnt mostly from this is not to panic, I did a lot of that as anyone would, see your GP and push for scans early with ENT, took ages for me to get mine.

    Avoid Google searches, easier said than done.
