Anal cancer?

Hi,

 

I'm 28 and am secretly really worried about a biopsy that's been taken, I had surgery on Tuesday I thought just to remove my anal tabs but my surgeon post op said he removed them and sent them to biopsy, I didn't question it at first but then I got home and thought why did they need a biopsy? He said he would write to me with results and then I googled biopsy and anal tabs and cancer came up and it said most causes of anal cancer are from having the HPV virus which I found out from my cervical cancer screening that I have this virus. Now I'm really worried that I had the tabs in the first place because they are cancer. Does anyone know around when I'd receive the biopsy results from my surgeon as now I'm very worried

    Hello Jollz1991, 

    I just wanted to welcome you to our forum. I hope you won't have to wait too long for your biopsy results. I can imagine it must be a very stressful time for you while waiting for these important results. 

    I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious. 

    I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you. 

    Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.
