My step-dad was diagnosed with stage 2 bowel cancer Feb 2019, but had surgery to remove part of his bowel and was given the all clear.
He then went for another screening for bowel cancer to double check everything was still okay in Feb of this year. We didn't hear anything back from it, and so assumed that everything was okay. However, today he received a phone call from the hospital to say that his scan showed something in his liver, and that he would need to go next week for an MRI scan. Yesterday, he also had to go to hospital to get a blood test done, with no other information other than the doctor requested it.
This is obviously all very worrying, as he had cancer in the past. However, he has no symptoms at all of liver cancer, and id assume that if he had cancer back in February it would have at least maybe spread elsewhere (causing symptoms) or would have gotten worse and thus he would have developed symptoms. Instead, everything seems to be completely normal.
I guess I'm just looking for reassurance here that he is okay, although we obviously won't know that until next week. Does anyone else have similar stories?
