Hi everyone,
I am 22 years old and about two months ago I notice I had a lump in my right breast, slightly close to the nipple in the areola area. I didn't do anything about it but as the time has gone on I cannot ignore it.
I called my GP but they had no appointments and could not make a future appointment, so I called 111... minutes later I had an appointment booked for me at the urgent treatment centre that same afternoon.
the doctor examined me and said there was clear swelling on my right breast, and she could feel the lump. She then asked if my nipple had always been inverted, which it hadn't until recently.
a referral to the breast clinic was made over a week ago, and today I received a telephone appointment with a surgeon. I am slightly worried about it being a telephone appointment because they cannot see the lump only ask me questions that had already been asked at the UTC.
the doctor at the UTC said that my age was in my favour, but it could be something sinister.
I had come across this forum and wanted to ask for other opinions on the matter? Am I overreacting?
thank you!
