Bleeding between periods after CIN3 cell removal

Went to GP September 2019 over periods being 9 days long and lump on labia. Dr told me she thought this lump was a bartholins cyst and to keep an eye on any changes. Had pelvic examination to then be referred to colposcopy and smear shown hpv positive and high/moderate grade cell change. Biopsy results came back CIN3 in DECEMBER. I then had precancerous cells removed through loop excission of cervix on 10TH February 2020. Since cell removal I bled for a while something like 2 month maybe a little longer. This was not heavy just like a long, light, brown period but towards end of bleeding was yellowy in colour discharge. First normal period was beginning of May then June had a period for 7 days but a week later bleeding again for about 5 days. July period as normal but bleeding again a week later this time for 3 days and then a week later had pink when wiping again. Also this bleeding would happen 2 days after intercourse but only the first time having intercourse after my period any other time I dont seem to have bleeding after intercourse. Periods since the cell removal have been more brown in colour at beginning and end of period. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I have my follow up smear on 10th August next week. WI'll the gynecologist at hospital doing my smear be able to answer any of these problems I am having? I am too scared to phone my GP with my health anxiety over all of this. I am worried that this bleeding is due to the lump on my inner labia and that the hpv has caused vaginal or vulva cancer or something more to do with my wombe as I know I have only shown for having precancerous cell growth on cervix. I also have the nexplanon implant second time.

  • Hi Lexi1994

I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling so anxious about your health at the moment. I'm sure that the gynaecologist will be able to answer your questions on Monday at your appointment.
If you're feeling nervous about the appointment then it might be helpful to write down all the things that are concerning you so that you can discuss them with the Consultant.

If you want to chat things through with one of our nurses, give them a call on 0808 800 4040 (mon-Fri 9am to 5pm) and I'm sure they will be able to give you some reassurance.

    Best wishes,
