Hi, I found a lump in my armpit about 6 weeks ago. It was really hard, painless and about the size of a pea. It has grown slightly to the size of a marble. I have tenderness and lumps towards my breast and another around my collar bone. I also have severe upper back, neck and shoulder pain on the same side which may well be unrelated.
I saw my GP on Friday and I have been given an appointment at the breast clinic on Thursday 13th August. The lady who called with my appointment said they have bent the rules to get me in quicker and I'm being seen at the 35 and under clinic (I'm 38) due to the urgency with regards to the notes from my GP. I'm now terrified when I was feeling pretty sure it was nothing! anyone have anything similar (stories either way - I want to be prepared if I need to be!)
also, do you think there will be any difference between the treatments offered in the 35 and under and the 36+ clinics? Doctor said she expected I'd have a mammogram but I'm not sure that will be offered now.
thanks for reading!
vicky
