Hi

Please try not to worry, I have had 3 colposcopy's over the past 20 years for abnormal cells and irregular bleeding. Take comfort in the fact that your GP has acted fast and I'm sure it's just a precaution. 
The procedure is relatively painful, a little uncomfortable, take a couple of paracetamol an hour before you go (obviously if you can) and it will help. 
The doctors and nurses are always very helpful and will answer any questions you have.

It’s really good to have an appointment so quickly. Hopefully you will get answers once you have this done, but please try and not let your mind run away with you at this point. There are reasons other than cancer, and hopefully yours will be much less serious than that. Good luck, and let us know how you get on. x

Thank you yes fingers crossed bit of a rollercoaster of emotions today but glad I'm being seen quickly. Will let you know how it goes

It’s always an anxious time waiting for tests and results, that’s for sure. It can be much worse than finding out what’s wrong! Fingers crossed all will be ok. x
