Mum's appointment at breast clinic

Hello,

My mum has just had her appointment at the breast clinic, she has had a lot of signs pointing to breast cancer: dimpling of skin, lump, inverted nipple.

She had an ultrasound and a mammogram today, and they found 2 lumps in her armpit and 1 in her breast. They have taken a biopsy of each lump.

I am just scared that the lumps in her armpits could mean the cancer has spread to other parts of her body, as well as lymph nodes.

I'm just looking for a bit more information/guidance/reassurance really. I'm so scared that I'm going to lose her, she is only 48 and my best friend.

Thanks in advance (I've left my name out as I think she is a part of this community).

Xx

  • Hi Blondie123,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I can certainly understand your worries - it's always difficult when there is this uncertainty surrounding loved ones. Try not to jump to any conclusions at this stage as it sounds like there isn't a lot of information to work with. Hopefully it won't be long before you get the results and then there may be some next steps to take, which will provide some certainty.

If you'd like to talk anything through with our nurses, you can reach them on 0808 800 4040 - Monday-Friday, 9-5.

I hope you're able to find out more soon, and whatever happens we're always here for support.

    Wishing you all the best,
