2x lumps on neck.. worried advice please

Good Evening all,

I have suffered from headaches and bouts of dizziness for a few years now which I take meds for. I found a painless lump (roughly 4/5cm) on my neck on the left side a couple of months ago that I had monitored to see if it would dissapear. Over 2 months later it was still very much present and felt bigger and harder. I also noticed ringing in my left ear (same side as lump) that would come and go. I had my GP look at it last week and she has referred me for an ultrasound but she said she wasn't too anxious as she thinks she could move it on manipulation but wants to double check what it is hence the scan as it is in a 'complex' area. I have to say even though she is a lovely woman she didn't seem very convincing facial expression wise. Since being referred I have found another rock hard lump just above my hairline on the right hand side of my head that doesn't move and is also painless. I am booked in for the scan this coming Wed but I'm just wondering what experiences people have had good or bad? Of course like most I can't help but think the worst as I have symptoms that may be linked if it is the dreaded C or something detrimental to my health such as persistent itching all over body, night sweats/hot flushes etc. Thanks in advance for your replies Xx
