breast lump

I have found a lump in my right breast just outside the bottom off my areola, I can feel it as soon as I touch the skin , I noticed it a month ago when it was pea sized and like an idiot put it to the back off my mind as ive had so much going off, yesterday I've checked again an it's now the size of a marble, it slightly tender if I have a good feel of it its smooth and round. I'm 41 this year, I have to go the walk in centre as I have not registered with a doctor in my area as yet,, I just need some reassurance please xx

  • hi sorry to hear of your worries I guess that you should  see a gp as soon as you can for an examination and he may well refer you to the breast clinic.?  I've had cancer in my right boob 10 years ago. and this week I found a lump in my other boob ..I rang my gp he asked me to go in and examined me and has referred me to the local breast clinic just to be on the safe side ...as I only had a mammagram in January which was clear ..so now I have to wait to be seen and I'm very anxious too. . hope you get sorted this week..xx

  • thankyou for your advice, I'm sorry to hear that you have found another lump, you have beaten cancer once your a strong woman I hope and pray that it's all ok for you, thankyou again xx

  • well given the seriousness of your issue I'd say that most surgeries offer registration even during covid? especially if you explain your worries and symptoms?...(i was asked to go to the gp surgery in a mask and had to have temp checked upon arrival..also he couldn't offer me a chaperone ..with me needing to undress..I said fine just examine me anyway).....so obviously due to the seriousness of my issue he agreed for me to attend the closed surgery  .so if I was you I would ring around all gp surgeries and explain your circumstances and plead to be registered... it's a matter of a form to fill in and I'd say may take a few days to sort? or maybe they would allow you to register online or via email??so do this in the am if you can? if they were to all refuse I'd be very surprised as we still get ill and they are still health professionals ...once you are registered I'd ask for a telephone consultation by a gp to explain your issue...they will decide if you need to be seen in person and will invite you in as long as you wear a mask and have no covid symptoms..they asked this of me today....hopefully by the end of the week you are registered ..and can get an examination arranged ...xx

  • aw thank you. I'm just in shock seeing as my mammogram only 24 weeks ago was clear ...so I have to stay calm and patient ...let us know how you get on this week take care xx

  • Definitely go as soon as possible to have your lump checked, if only to put your mind at rest. If it is something serious and in most cases it's not, but the earlier it's dealt with the better for you.
I have just finished treatment for breast cancer and have found a swelling under my other arm 2 days ago, I shall be onto the GP this morning...

    Best wishes
