DCIS

Hi,

I have just had my surgery yesterday ( micro ductectomy ) and im feeling good, no pain so far, i originally saw my GP due to blood stained discharge and was seen very quickly in the triple assessment clinic, my ultrasound showed dilated ducts and my mammo showed an area of suspicion that after a bx thankfully showed just fibrocystic changes but didnt explain the ducts, hence the surgery to remove and examine the ducts, just wondering has anyone had a diagnosis of dcis when everything else so far proved to be benign?

  • Hello Sunflowers20

I'm glad to hear that you've recovering well from your surgery. It sounds really positive that all your results so far have brought positive news. Hopefully the results of your operation will bring more reassurance and that the dilated ducts were just one of those things.

Keep in touch and  let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi

I think I may be in a similar position to you, I have a large area of textual change, as well as lumps and bloody discharge. I have had multiple biopsies over the past 3 months all classified as B2 or B3.

Did you have a diagnosis of DCIS or was it discussed as a possibility (mine is still TBC but suspicious for it). Has anything changed with your condition since last year?

  • I had clarifications show up on a routine mamo, recall and told most are fine, had an ultra scan followed by a biopsy, results followed 10 days later

DCIS grade 3 so booked in for op results 10 days later

They showed clear margins but small, still none invasive re booked in tomorrow to get a bigger piece then yes results in 10 days

    Hi Coffee_lover,

I hpe that all goes well for you tomorrow and that you don't have to wait too long for your results. It's good news that it's non-invasive. I was diagnosed with this 12 years ago, had a second cancer 11 years ago and am still living a busy and fulfilled life, so try not to worry.

Please let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

Have you had further tests to confirm this or where are you placed at present?

    Hi Sunflowers,

I agree with Jenn that all sounds very positive so far. Here's hoping that the surgery doesn't show up anything untoward.
