Slightly raised ca125 39.7

Been having symptoms since lockdown started so have been having phone consultations with gp. First it was reflux so gavisgon was prescribed. Symptoms continued stomach pains, kidney pain hip pain. Gp again over phone said kidney infection prescribed antibiotics. Still having pain strong painkillers prescribed but made me constipated so had laxido. Finally spoke to another go at surgery who said come for blood test. Blood test fine. Phoned gp had another phone consultation after which asked to go to surgery for physical exam. Palpated stomach said to have blood test, on paperwork was written cancer I nearly fell through the floor blood test was for ca125. Rang several times for results eventually to be told gp will call me back. gp phoned to say I needed to have scan as level was slightly raised to 39.7. Looking on good old google has scared the life out of me. Just needed to vent to someone as so difficult to think clearly. Any feedback appreciated.

  • Hey I have had issues for around 15 months. A scan then found a polyp and fibroids. The polyp was removed and biopsied. After having the implant, my very heavy periods generally improved but every 5/6 I have a terrible period that means I cannot work as it is too heavy, I feel very unwell and leaves me anaemic. The last episode was at Easter and I was hospitalised and referred again. After a scan, I had to get a CA125 test (even though I had googled this, I still was quite shocked too). My result was similar to yours and I need another scan in Sept. I'm actually much less worried now strangely. I read online that the results can be raised if there is inflammation in the pelvis and I'm guessing that my fibroids and new cyst probably account for that. I'm not saying there isn't a little thought in back of mind it could be something else but after reading posts on here I felt comforted that my results were lower than many others mentioned.
