Hi everyone! I'm new to this and I am worried about some symptoms I've been having.

For the past 6 weeks I have been having a change in bowel habits, going from loose to constipated. I've also had a fair amount of mucus, gas, what looks like a bit of blood and lower left belly pains, back pain and pain on my neck under my jaw on the left side.

I visited my gp who has referred me to lower gi under the 2 week wait. The hospital called me today and said a nurse is going to call me tomorrow, she also mentioned a colposcopy and then blood tests on Wednesday. Is it normal for a nurse to call instead of speaking to a dr? And is it normal to have a colposcopy straight away without seeing a dr?

Im also worried that my symptoms are similar to those with ovarian cancer, so if my gastro tests are clear will they then refer me to gynae or do I have to ask?

I turn 25 this week so I know I'm at low risk but I'm just wondering how this all works? If they don't find anything wrong will they just discharge me back to my gp then I have to go through the wait and worrying again or can I ask them to pass me over to gynae?
