I'm pretty sure cysts and cancer aren't related. If it was an ultrasound they used to diagnose then I think they'll just be doing the CA-125 test to double check that  it'S  just a cyst. I think ultrasound is pretty good at differentiating between cysts and cancer. Cysts  usually have  smooth demarkated edges and are round in shape whereas tumours don't look like that.

I had an ovarian cyst (12cm) that ruptured and twisted my ovary which then died from lack of blood supply.I had to have the ovary removed as an emergency (long story as hospital Doc's initially wrongly diagnosed as a pelvic infection)

I'd been back and forth to GP and a couple of admissions to A/E with abdo pain over the 3-4 years before,particularly just before a period, but it was always put down to irritable bowel because it was associated with constipation. Nobody did any investigations even though (obv'as the cyst was getting bigger!) the pain was getting worse. Classic ovarian cyst pain in my back and down the legs. 

I had full abdo surgery (through my C section scar), but it was ruptured an emergency and I was quite ill with all sorts of nasty stuff from the ruptured cyst in my belly and borderline sepsis by the time they got their backsides into gear.

I'm sure they can remove them laproscopically now, even large ones.x

I had a pelvic ultrasound at 9am 24/7 was sent dm for scan as poss ovarian cancer, 18.15 last night I got a message from my gp, results are back and to make an appointment.  
 

obviously all drs went home and I've been giving an appointment Monday at 3.30pm it's going to be longest weekend. im hopping it's a cyst but with getting results quickly I'm now a little worried x

how quickly did others get their results? X
