last year I had similar symptoms but am aged 23 and therefore wasn't old enough for a Smear. My GP requested a pelvic ultrasound to look for ovarian cysts and polycystic ovaries as this causes very similar symptoms but also requested a colposcopy where they look at the cervix and give it a dye that shows abnormal cells - this is more advanced than a smear but this all came back all fine for me and was put down to a reaction to the pill I was taking at the time. Might be worth requesting these with your doctor to rule anything out if they turn down a smear.

If you are having symptoms, then a smear is not appropriate as it is all about detection of abnormal cells. You actually need to have these symptoms investigated so I would contact your doctor in the first instance, and be referred to a gynaecologist if it’s approrpiate. You say you have pretty much all the symptoms of cervical cancer. Having had this cancer twice in the last 18 months, I’m pretty familiar with the symptoms, but be aware that symptoms you think may be cancer could well be for another less serious reason. You do need to see your doctor though. x
