Major duct excision in left breast

So I'm basically posting to see if anyone else has had this experience, abit of reassurance etc.
I am 28 and went to a breast clinic today due to breast discharge. The consultant after a ultrasound suggested a major duct excision due to the fluid and some small polyps that could be seen. She said however it is completely up to me what I want to do, I can opt out of surgery or go a head, she warned me of a lot or risks but does suggest I go ahead with it. But due to Covid there could be abit of a wait. So I'm unsure what to do, I'm a single mom with a four year old so obviously want to do what is best for them as the dad isn't involved never has been.

Within a few hours of leaving the clinic my doctors called me and have asked me to come in for a multiple of blood tests she explained why and now I'm starting to worry?
I don't know what I'm hoping from posting this maybe just someone who has been through something similar? do I do the surgery? Do I not? Etc any advice information would be great!

I'm glad to read that you went back to your GP following your previous post and they you were seen at breast clinic. It sounds positive that the Consultant didn't feel that there was any pressing need for treatment however I know that lots of people have posted here about how it can be difficult to make a decision when the Consultant leaves it to you to decide what you want to do.

I wonder if you'd find it helpful to talk things through with one of our nurses? You may find it helps to puts things into perspective and gives you some reassurance. You can call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

    I hope this helps.

    Best wishes,
