Hey guys! I hope everyone is doing well  I went to the doctors a couple of years ago after finding a swollen lymph node under my jaw that didn't go away and I got an ultrasound and blood tests done and i got the all clear but was told that the lymph node might never go back to it's original size. Now within the last 6 months (maybe more, I'm not sure), I have noticed a few more swollen lymph nodes under my jaw on the right side and then a few more...and now there must be about 8!
I put off going to the doctors about it because I convinced myself it was nothing and that they would go down but they haven't. Since February, I have been suffering with problems to do with an infected wisdom tooth on my lower right jaw. I was hoping that the lymph nodes may be something to do with that since it is a reoccurring infection but since the lymph nodes never go away, I'm not sure.
Today I finally called the doctors and explained the situation and he referred me for blood tests (which I have on Monday morning) and said I should hear from the hospital soon about an 'urgent ultrasound' appointment. I feel thankful that I have bee taken so seriously as on here I've noticed that a lot of people have to push their GPs for these kind of appointments but waiting for the appointments is making me worry. If I knew the date of the ultrasound, I would feel a little less anxious. This is making me tempted to go for a private ultrasound.
The lumps are hard and painless and move around when I feel them. I'd guess they are no bigger than 1-1.5cms in size. As well as the lumps, I have also been getting night sweats. It's not a daily thing, but seems to be happening once every week or so.
Googling has not made me feel better and I have managed to convince myself that if I do have cancer, it has spread a lot. Especially since I have so many swollen lymph nodes that won't go away. I'm very stressed and I feel stupid for not calling the doctors sooner. Is anyone else here in a similar position?
