Waiting for biopsy results

Hi there,

I had appointment at the breast clinic on 16th July, Dr at first thought breast lump was harmless, she couldn't feel anything when I was lying down but sent me for mammogram to be sure.  After quite a few different mammogram photos (sorry don't know how elst to describe them) I was getting nervous.  When nurse came in for the 4th time to take more I had a bad feeling.  Next I was having an ultrasound and Dr doing it said he would need to take a biopsy, 3 breast biopsies taken and titanium clip put in in case they have to remove anything? He also said something showed with a lymph node under arm as well but didn't biopsy that.  When I went back in to see the first Dr she was so apologetic as she felt I had been unprepared by her saying she thought it was all fine.  She told me to prepare myself for bad news and bring my partner in for next appointment.  My appointment is for 29th July with the consultant, I am absolutely terrified, I'm 45 and trying to stay positive but it's difficult.

    Thank you. I'm going to stay on here if that's OK so I can maybe help others. Talking to my dad last night I found out more of my mums history. Her first tumors were bengin which I knew nothing about so I'm going to be pro active from now on. I've booked in the doctors for a blood test to check my estrogen levels as read that this can drive these lumps and my mum was estrogen positive.  Weirdly I'm looking at this as a blessing to be vigilant x

    It would be great if you stayed on this forum, find lots of woman who worry they have breast cancer and are looking for people who have been in the same position and have had benign results. Your experience would help them. Aways good to be viliglent, although I had no symptoms, it was picked up through screening. Mine was also estrogen driven so on meds for the next 5 years, not sure how one would reduce estrogen without meds though but hopefully your GP will point you i the right direction x

    Sorry only just seen this! Yes my mums was only picked up through screening she was actually at the hospital for something else and they invited her as they had the screening unit there and she was 50.

    I'm just waiting for an appointment now for a blood test x
