HELP

Hi I was wondering if someone could help me or if anyone's been through or going through similar circumstances.  I am a 30yo male . For the past two years my BM have been continuously loose with occasional blood in it I've had other symptoms such as lower abdominal pain, always tired and no energy but I put it down to my diet . However last November I had to go to A&E as I was passing blood every day 2-3 times per day the doctor examined me and said I had internal haemorrhoids told me to eat more fibre and do so home remmodies .  I took his advice but the bleeding has got worse I bleed every day at least 3 times a day I feel as if I'm needing a bowel movement but when I go to toilet it's just bright red blood no stool and small bits of clots . I went back to my GP two weeks ago who gave me hameroid cream which I applied but I'm still passing blood everyday . I went back today and the ANP took my bloods and said she will make referral . I've bled non stop today . My stomach is sore as if I've got bad cramps . I've also lost a lot of weight these past months . I know my own body and I know somethings not right but no health professional is taking me serious . I feel so anxious and don't know what to do .

  • Hello Summer89,

You've done the right thing in going back to the GP and it's good that they have now made a referral. Poor you it sounds like you have had a rough time of it all - it must be rather stressful for you and I hope that you won't have to wait too long for your referral to come through and to be seen by a specialist. In the meantime, try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be and resist any temptation to look anything up online as this will only make you feel even more anxious. It won't be long now hopefully until you are seen by a specialist. I am sorry to hear that you feel no health professional is taking you seriously. If you see that you are not getting anywhere, perhaps you could consider seeking a second opinion? You can find out more about this on this page

I hope you feel better soon and that you find out more about what is causing these symptoms.

    Best wishes,
