Hello,which type of cancer do you have,which stage?How you feel now?

So glad to read and see everyone so supportive of one another. 

My mother got told on the 2nd Nov that she has Ovarian cancer, she had an mri scan on 26th Nov. Was told have the results by 30th Nov, she then got told a week after the Mri scan they've booked an appointment with consultants. She finds out the results today at 4.10pm. 

Struggling to be her rock through all of this especially with the covid conditions, I've not seen her since 4th Nov due to tier 3 rules.

Hi l have given and mri on friday at 11:45 my question is if there is srious problem can a doctor call me on saturday and sunday?

if a toumr is seen it will be reported afew days later?

I had a ultra sound in march fof a lumpin my abdomen result sait it was an atypical lipomatous witg vascularity and cystic areas .

I had an mri yesterday and im very axnious about my results as i worry that the mri will find somthing worse than the ultrasound .

Any advice is welcome

A very warm welcome to our forum. It is always a worrying time when you are waiting for results. Try to keep yourself busy to help the time to pass. Were you told when your results should be back? Most MRI results seem to come back within 1-2 weeks. Times can vary slightly throughout the country, depending upon how the current pandemic is affecting an area. We always advise people not to consult 'Dr Google' at this stage, as this will only scare you further.

Hi guys

i had an MRI on my head and neck in April. I had a text today to confirm an ENT appointment on the phone on Friday next week. 
is it normal to wait so long? It's been 2 months since I had the scan. 
 

I lost my mum to cancer in December last year and I've been terrified that I have it, which I'm sure if part of grief, etc. 
 

just a bit concerned that I've waited 2 months for results. 
 

anyond experienced the same?

A very warm welcome to our forum. I am so sorry to hear about the loss of you mum and can understand why this makes you feel so terrified. I'm a breast cancer lady and we normally wait 1-2 weeks for the results from an MRI. I know that the results for different types of cancer can vary according to type, but 8 weeks seems quite a long time. I hope that your ENT phone consultation next Friday will give you some answers and I sincerely hope that it will be good news.

My mum died in Feb and 2 days later I was diagnosed with Bell's Palsy, it's been over 4 months now . I had a MRI scan with contrast 4 weeks ago and still no results. I have rang a couple of times and been told they have chased it up with no reply, I'm now very worried, although everyone is telling me "no news is good news" but reading this forum has put my mind at rest a little. Thank you so much and I send everyone good wishes.

Hi Zannz,

I am so sorry to hear about your mum and offer my sincere condolences. It must have seemed like a double whammy to get a diagnosis so soon after this happened. The results of some MRIs  can take longer than others, but I would have thought that they should be back by now. It might be worth phoning up again to see if they would chase it up again if they still have no reply.
