Anxious - Lymph node

**** i will disclaimer this post by advising that I do have health anxiety and it is heightened generally at the moment because of covid. If I come across trivial I apologise..****
 

I have one small but still enlarged oval shaped movable lymph node in my neck which I noticed about 3 weeks ago by chance (I dont have no idea how long it's been there) and I'm beside myself.

I haven't been unwell particularly though I have had the odd mild tooth aches/throat/Jae  pain over the past day or two.. 

I obsessively google and touch my neck it's a real problem all that comes up is Cancer/Lymphoma - nothing positive. 
ive been to the doctors. He felt my neck and said the node was tiny but as it's been there a while suggested it was scanned - because in his words he wouldn't be able to tell me for certain it was nothing without a scan. This triggered me to catastrophise. He told me he isn't worried about it but it's not put my mind at rest.  The doctor suggested we give  the node a week and if it had gone down problem solved.. it's a week and it's not gone some days it feels bigger then others but hasnt grown any larger. 
 

does anyone have any positive enlarged lymph node storeys to keep me sane

    Hi there,

     

    I also have a lot of health anxiety and worry about my enlarged lymph nodes somtimes. 


    i have had enlarged lymph nodes for months after being ill with glandular fever. My boyfriend also has enlarged lymph nodes for no reason what so ever and have been up for over a year. He went to the doctors about it and apparently it's very common for them to take a very long time to return to normal. I don't know how old you are but I think this is especially common in young people as both me and my boyfriend are 18.

    Hi Alaska24 - thanks so much for replying.

     

    health anxiety is horrible. When I'm bad i just seem to jump from one negative possibility to the next.

     

    i think the only thing that will put my mind at rest Is to scan the node which I think my Dr will do but again this heightens the anxiety it's such a viscous circle.

     

    im trying not to constantly check it - just want it to go down.

    Just wanted to Bob back on because when I was researching swollen lymph nodes, there was nothing but negative search results, I got myself into a right state.

     

    i had an ultrasound on my neck today and the results were normal. Despite me having an englarged node. 
     

    I was advised some just are bigger, it could be scaring and that despite bigger then others within my neck the size was normal and nothing unusual about them,
