Referral.

Today I was referred to the ENT due to swelling on one side of my tonsils & enlarged lymph nodes/lump in my neck. This has been going on a few months now. Lymph nodes nor tonsil are/is not painful.
I guess I'm just posting here as I'm a bit nervous and just wondering what I can expect from my ENT appointment?

I'm a 23 (24 next Sunday!) year old female.

    Hi Suffolkgirl,

Welcome to our forum. I am so sorry to hear about your symptoms. You will naturally be worried at being referred to the ENT Clinic. This only natural. We all feel nervous at this stage. Unfortunately, I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer in the past11 years and, am not au fait with the protocols at an ENT appointment. Hopefully, some other people who have more experience of ENT problems, will come along to tell you more about what you can expect from your appointment.

I am not a doctor, but just want to assure you that not many of the people who attend ENT are diagnosed with cancer.

Do please keep in touch and let us know how you get on at the clinic. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
