I'm 26 mum of 3 I've been spotting brown/pink discharge in between periods for a few months now and pain during intercourse I went to my gp they did a few blood tests and ultrasound all they said was I had a small percentage of thickening on my womb but they didn't think it's anything to worry about and put it down to ovulation but nearly every day inbetween periods I spot and I'm always tired no energy bloating and I've always got a full and dull ache in my pelvis I've been back on the phone to the gp and after all these mo tha they have finally referred me to a Gynecologist. I'm just so worried.. I had smear test at the age of 19 from problems and i had abnormal cells and the hpv virus but 3 year later they said everything was normal i just don't understand.. has anyone been through the simular situation or have any advice please??

thanks x

  • Hi Cara1994, yes I was the same when your age, and eventually I was diagnosed with a tilted womb and also fibroids, I had a blood transfusion as I was so anaemic and because they had left me so long without investigation a full hysterectomy at the age of 36 years old.  So ask them if it's fibroids as apparently this is being overlooked by the medical professionals and women are having their concerns ignored, most of my appointments ended with them saying it was stress which caused heavy periods and spotting, also painful intercoursre was due to my frigidity, so stand your ground and ask these questions when you see them.  I'll put you on my follow list and see how you get on.  All best wishes for a positive outcome.  Carol x

  • Hi carol thank you for replying x

did you have an ultrasound? A few months ago they did a ultrasound on me and a transvaginal ultrasound and said there was nothing apart from a small thickening on my womb. So I've just left it but it's getting worse :( also rang the hospital today and they said to ring back in a few weeks for a appointment even though my dr put it through as a urgent refural I feel like I'm losing my mind!! Xx

  • Hi Cara, no I had a scrape to clear the build up and because I was borderline anemic an urgent hysterectomy the following week.  Its always a long drawn out business no matter what they do, just be calm and you will get sorted, the two week urgent referral is now standard procedure for certain things, so it's not always done because they think the worst.  Carol x
