Hello lovely forum,
I had my telephone consultation yesterday for my swollen lymph nodes in my neck (9 weeks) and was really nervous before as I was concerned that I'd have to push like I've had to with my GP.
Needless to say the consultant was lovely and I was on the phone for less than 5 minutes. Describing the lumps was tricky as I felt I didn't have the right vocab - 'well, they're rather lumpy and swollen - I look like I've mumps on my left side...' lol but it seemed to do the trick and he has referred me for an untrasound with possible biopsy if required at the appointment.
Does anyone have any clue what the waiting times are for such a procedure or is it a post code lottery?
Also I would like to thank this forum - there is a very long thread regarding swollen lymph nodes and it's very reassuring to see that the majority of those on it who were referred for tests had benign or something that was not cancer once they had their test results back.
