Could it be?

Hello,

Im really getting myself worked up, I've got a breast clinic appointment next week due to having a achy right breast, with nipple discharge (which comes out when I massage my breast to relieve the aching). I'm super tired, but other then that I feel alright. I can't find any information online which would suggest my symptoms are anything sinister.
I asked the doctor if it could be hormones and she quickly snapped back saying no and that I must have some imaging done.

What could it be, is it cancer?!

Has anyone been through similar?

Best wishes xx

  • Following as the same thing is happening to me! I've been taking the pill so i've stopped taking it to see if that clears it up first (i've actually been on this forum for a totally seperate issue! all seems to be happening at once!).

  • Oh really, what has the doctor said it could be to you? Mine was panicked, but no lump or other symptoms going on.
Hope you get some answers soon.

  • Hi Mummaof2

im in a similar situation, had pain in left breast for a few months, the frequency of the pain has increased so I went to GP Thursday and now on 2 week wait for appointment. I couldn't feel a lump, and the gp couldn't either but said the left did feel different to the right. I got a letter from the GP this morning to confirm the referral and that it would be testing to see if I had cancer which has really worried me. I have a lot of family history of breast cancer and I had co bunched myself the Gp was being thorough with the referral but now I'm wondering if she did feel something but didn't want to say.

  • Nothing yet! I haven't seen my GP about it yet. I'm currently waiting for my period to return after stopping the pill a few weeks ago. If it's still like it after that then i will be making an appointment. I've found that although it's primarily my left breast that gets it, if i squeeze the right one, i do get the discharge as well. I'm sure i've made it worse from squeezing them to see if it's still there!

  • Have you had any other "symptoms"? It's so worring isn't it, I had a swab of the discharge coming from my breast and there was no sign of infection, but my doctor never explained why she felt I needed to see the breast clinic so I'm thinking all sorts of horrible things.

Hope you get answers as quickly as possible x

  • I do feel my hormones are a bit off at the moment, my pain has become constant whereas it used to come and go. I am tired a lot but I always put that down to being a working mum!
