Very stressed re husband

Hello, I am new to this forum and am desperately looking for answers and/or reassurance. A difficult one, I know, as I read here so many worried posts. The unknown (or the known) can be so very stressful. My husband has had heavy night sweats for more than two weeks, along with chills in the day (but no fever). He has had a persistent shallow cough for the same period and pain in the groin. He has had so many blood tests, no conclusive results other than very high ferritin levels (which I understand is infection). An ultrasound of the lymph nodes showed nothing. He has been in the hospital for 4 days now and they can't find anything conclusive so the doctor has said he will have a PET scan in the morning, looking for lymphoma or bone marrow cancer. It has scared me terribly (and him too obviously). He is 66, had a nephrectomy last year with Sarcoid RCC kidney cancer. In theory they removed all the cancer. He had his quarterly CT scan (abdomen and chest) only three weeks ago and it all came out good. Could this be cancer again?
  • Hi Chilli and welcome to the forum.

I'm sorry to read what your husband has been going through lately, it sounds very tough but I hope the PET scan went well for him the other day and I'm sure it won't be long until you get some answers.

Hopefully some of our members will pop by soon to offer their support and advice but in the meantime I just wanted to let you know we're thinking of you and will have our fingers crossed for good news.

    Kind regards,
