Hi everyone, I've had a colonoscopy 24 hours ago and I was told the following "Normal ileo-colonoscopy expect for 1st degree Haemorrhoids. biopsies taken from right and left Colon and rectum to exclude IBD / Microscopic colitis."

Does anyone understand what that means as I'm very confused thanks. 
 

Are Biopsies taken if there is a threat of cancer? As I'm very nervous waiting for my results. Any help would be appreciated, especially help on how to stay calm during the waiting period for results.
