Waiting on refferal BC

So I'm 33 with 4 kids about 6 years ago id found a lump in my right breast and drs referred me for an ultrasound thankfully it was just fatty muscle at one point both my nippes where inverted now its only my left one that is

Sunday night and I'm checking and find a hard move able lump in the same breast (right breast) dr said its would be about 10 o clock if they where looking from a clock point of view she also said she could see it where one side of breast is bigger than the other she's referred on me the 2 week criteria not sure if that's because my great gran and great aunt died from it in there 70s and 60s, this lump feels nothing like my previous time as that one is still there and that's set me in a blind panic

  • Hey, i'm no expert but i did get told that my grandmothers history won't factor in to my risk. They tend to look at close blood relatives.

Hope that helps a little bit. I'm im the waiting game too, just got my appointment through for the 20th, just having a date towards will relax you. X

  • I am in the same boat as you. Just got back from the doctors and now am waiting for the 2 week appointment. I have one giant lymph node in my armpit. They are sending me straight away as my mum died of breast cancer. I'm terrified now I just thought it was an infection.

  •

I been where you have been and it not easy your dr Would of rerf you as that what they do now so you have the appoinment you find you be taken into a room where there be a surgeron and a nurse there he or she will want to feel and see the lump you be taken for a manogrsm just a tiny bit of pressure and then maybe an ultasound like if you was having a baby doesn't hurt if they need to they will also do a bisposy there and then which would have a nurse there to and they just put anastic in from a needle and you just feel a bit of pulling

your then see your surgeron again before you go and they disscuss the finding on the ultasound and mammogram however if it worse case they won't be able to confirm for a week and half chances are if it and you feeling fine physically it be in the early stages and wouldn't of spread

I hope this helps and if you like to talk again then please just message or private message me

  • Thank you I think the thing that panics me most is when I spoke to her on the phone she said I didnt meet the criteria for it to be a 2 week referral and that with w everything going on with covid that there was a chance it would be sent back to be referred at a later date and then 2 days later I see her and she's put it through as urgent

I keep making a laugh about it saying well if it is i won't miss them as was nothing there anyway but in the back of my mind I'm stressing big time over it yet trying to function for everyone else, I had a scare at start of the year a Dr diagnosed me with a wart and then when I went to get it removed he said he was wrong and needed a biopsy thankfully it was lichenoid keratosis but this seems so different l, as i only had to wait for results now ive got to wait for tests and results

How did your waiting go? Was it good news?

  • fingers crossed it all goes well you will have to let me know the outcome I'm hoping I will relax a bit once the appointment comes through i don't remember feeling this anxious the last time i had to be checked but then again I didn't attend any clinic my Dr just referred me straight for an ultrasound

  • hopefully its nothing and just the tissue mass but please let me know how you get on its nice to know that where not on our own and other people are going through the same

  • Thank you I will it's good to know we are not alone. I don't think I would be scared without the family history. I was just expecting to go in today and the doctor to say it was just an infection! But it's also good that we are seen quickly either way.

  • So from what I understand you had the tests ? Did you get any feedback af all as I know I did from mine that day I had a biopsy an ultasound and mannogram and he said the ultra sound abs mannogram look suspects however my age as good family history and the fact that it mobile

had to wait a week and half and he came in with a nurse as if it you get a nurse you see all the time and weekly phone calls and he said it was almost like he knew a week and half ago it hormone related which is most common he talked through my option as there was quite a few at the time saw me two weeks later then the virus was around so the option I got my head around was no longer an option so I had two have a hormone injection once a month at my gp and a tablet a day or remove the breast as remaking they can't do at the moment I chose the tablet and injection

after 3 weeks once the hormones where out of me I became very very tearful emotional and they said that normal I wasn't getting on with it so decided to take the deep end as I may not of had to have chemo as long as it hadn't spread it was a long road as I don't feel feminine right now there are bras you can buy and everyone says they couldn't tell and you can put a softie in to start of with and now I brought a sliclone one but it just getting your head around it that you know

lucky it cleared it the hormone treatment worked and maded them smaller so no chemo or radio if I of left it who knows but they will rebuild it as soon as they can

  • Hiya

No ive not had test on this occasion had an ultrasound 6 years ago where they said it was glandular I think (but it definitely feels different to that one) the swelling I have has only just came in the past day or so

I've just seen my gp whos reffered me on

I'm glad yours cleared with the hormone treatment

Just so many different scenarios and I'm trying to think of what I can do in each

  • Well just wanted to give an update already had my appointment come through for this Monday coming really didn't expect it to be that quick so quite shocked but happy I wont have to wait the 2 weeks just a few days
