Biopsy results

Hi Ive just turned 36, I was referred to the breast clinic last week. I was examined, I had an ultrasound, a biopsy and a mammogram. The consultant said she didn't like what she found and it would need to be removed. I'm just waiting on my results from the biopsy. Has anyone else had the same sort of experience?
I know it's not a great start and I'm not building my hopes up for good news, I just can't help thinking the worst.

  • Hi Rosie, I just turned 36 too! And had somewhat of a similar experience recently. Great consultant saw something that she ascribed a 75% probability that it’s cancer, and had me do two biopsies and a MRI. The results all came back benign, thanks goodness, and I had the rest of it removed last week.

What else did she say about it? Shape, size? I completely understand what you are feeling as I was also preparing for the worst- I was thinking ahead about chemo and also went online and bought comfy and mastectomy bras .

Take it one day at a time and a TV series (I rewatched Downton Abbey) plus staying busy at work really helped me through the waiting period. When are your biopsy results due back?

    Much hugs

  • Hi Ladies

My Wife today went for her mm/scan/biopsy

Now the Consultant that saw her used words like ....its very worrying...and when I call you next week will someone be with you because it will be bad news. They found a hard lump on the left side of her breast

i am scared and my wife somehow seems a bit calm after crying her eyes out .

    I would appreciate your views

  • That is amazing news!!!

im so happy for you, I'm hoping my results are similar although I don't want to get my hopes up.

    thank you for your reply

  • It's so hard to grasp what is being said as lots of emotions are running wild. I'm the same, I had a few down days and now I'm just waiting as there is nothing I can change. Like your wife I presume, she could let it eat away at her or try to continue to be happy. I wish her all the best

  • I have been there had a mannogram bisposy and ultasound all in the same day just like your wife and they said it was pointing towards cancer I had to wait a week and half to find out the results sadly it was

mine was hormone related and it was 3 lumps two where tiny that was only shown up my an ultasound if she not got any physical symptoms she probably be ok as mine didn't spread he sat me down with a nurse and told me it like he knew a week and half ago it best to go with someone as after a while you tend to switch of

they go through your options and give you time to thing about it however because of the virus options are limited if it hormone related maybe a tablet a day and an injection once a month at your gps in terms of surgery it either a full removal which is tough or they may be able to remove some and leave some there unable to rebuild your whole beast at the moment due to this virus

if your wife would like to talk then please feel free I can offer someone to listen and share what I been through it not been an easy road

hope this helps and fingers crossed well done you for coming on here your wife one lucky lady !

    Rachel xx

  • Hi rachel

many thanks for your warm response. We got the Biospy results, and according to the Consultant. there is a 4CM TURMOUR..(now according to our Gp its treatable..BUT most important it hasnt spread.also that lump is hard and with my limited brain..i think its better hard than soft..also the way i look at this is that there are say 10 Cells..say 7 are dead cells and 3 are that Turmous Cells..so to make it all better they need to remove all these and patch it up.???) Another point my wife doesnt need a Full Body scan..we are going to see the Consultant tomorrow 17/7when he will examine her again/talk through the process

our Gp says the operation will take approx 45 mins, they may keep her overnight for observations

You can imagine my wife is in pieces..'' Why me/what have I done so bad to deserve this''..I try to cheer her up But i can understand her emotions are running high

Now is there anyone out there that recently had their hard lump removed, what was it like/and how are they feeling now..another point can you eat/sleep do All the normal things after  the OP.???

    please let me know

The Consultant did say that my wife will be ona  Tablet for next 5 yeras..at the moment none of us rae on any medications.

Looking forward to hear from you and any other ladies that had similiar operation/experience

    theo

  • Hi

im sorry to hear this I had a few lumps myself and they where removed as sane with me it had not spread !

do they know what the removal would invole I take it she not looking at a whole breast removal ?

if she like to talk I don't have a problem with that

they stright away said to me it nothing you done so it nothing she done either ! I'm here if you need me questions go ahead I can only try my best on my experiences she lucky to have you as I don't have a partner to go through this x

  • Hi rachel

we went to the consultant, obviously with covid19..i had to stay out,But the consultant talked thrun the operation process..It an operation to remove the turmour and any dead cells. Now she may have her left breast removed /or some of it..but he said to my wife dont get scared this is to make it all safe.First thing before the operated they WILL have to ensure that there are No Lympo Glands.??IFingers crossed etc..so far there are no sign of any spread..so  I cant see any Lympo ..but he has to be 100% Gteed..Also at this stage no radio/or chemo..which is Brilliant

My wife can come home the same day..but will have nurse visting her say for the 1st  couple of weeks just to make sure all is ok

Thats sound pretty good to me..someone who never saw or knew anything of bresat /or cancer..We Men hey...i just got all crossed when my wife goes in for her operation hopefully by mid aug..(next month)..I then hope a Full Recovery..She will be on a Tablet to assist with her Ostergon..(hope I spelt it correctly)..this is a horome type tablet.

In summary whilst its an operation..I think its much better that chemo ..but i am not anexpert
