22year old Awaiting Appointment- worried

Hi all. As you can tell from the title, I am awaiting an appointment at the breast clinic on the 13th. I went to my GP with a small lump in my left breast and the gp said it feels like a cyst but that she will refer me to have it checked. Since then, I have found multiple lumps. 8 to be exact just in one breast. I gave birth to my son only 8 months ago and breastfed for 4 months. Is it possible that these lumps could all be cysts? They all feel the same and are painful when touched. Around the size of a 5 pence peice. I am so scared. I'm having to go alone to my appointment because of the pandemic and that is also frightening. My right breast feels similar in texture with 2 small lumps also (not painful). I guess I'm looking for some reassurance maybe from someone who has also had multiple small painful lumps in their breasts.
I also suffer with generalised anxiety disorder and take medication for this daily. I haven't been myself, constantly thinking the worst. Every time I look at my baby boy I just want to cry.

  • Welcome to the forum Leahjadee97 although I'm sorry to read what's troubling you.

Finding breast lumps will, understandably, cause worry but we have many members here who have been in this position so I'm sure some of them will be along soon to offer their support and advice but in the meantime I just wanted to share some information I've found on what may happen at your appointment. I hope this helps make things a little less scary but if you'd like to talk things through with one of our nurses then you can give them a call on 0808 800 4040. Their phone lines are open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

We'll be thinking of you on the 13th Leahjadee97.

    Kind regards,
